As your grilling hamburgers, and enjoying the weather this memorial day don’t forget to tune into a star studded Racing Roundup replay Monday night from 7p-9p. Hour one hear the Canyon Speedway Park sponsored show from Phoenix International Raceway April 2008. Hour Two hear from an up and coming Cup star with Arizona ties.
Hour one listen as Jamie Reyonlds and Tony Steel talk racing with driver, announcers and track big wigs. Yates racing was nice enough to lend us David Gilliland and Travis Kvapil to talk about their goals this season including securing sponsorship. PIR Director of Communications Paul Corliss joins the boys to talk track news, and how is first year went. Also joining the broadcast were Spin Doctor Michael Knight and PIR trackside announcer, Milwaukee Mile VP - Media & Communications Jim Tretow.
Hour two is highlighted with an appearance from Michael McDowell. Michael originally schedule to highlight his first Sprit Cup visit to Phoenix International Raceway, but after a spectacular wreck during qualifying in Texas a week earlier he had plenty more to cover. Michael McDowell who started as a guest during his Star Mazda days, has visited the show numerous times on his way through the Grand Am series, ARCA and even a couple runs in Champ car and Daytona Prototypes. Here what McDowell has to say about his up coming season in his Michael Waltrip Racing 00 Toyota.
